| Brigade REPORTING A part of the job of the FORCECOM is to compile and maintain a working database of all the Marine Strike Groups and Marine Expeditionary Units throughout the corps. In order to do this, FORCECOM has the requirement of needing reports from each Marine Strike Group Officer in Charge, as well as the Battalion Commanders every two months. The reporting procedures can be downloaded, as well as viewed online. Reporting Dates
Units Units: After three FTR's in a twelve month period the Units Ship's CO will be contacted and apprised of the situation. If more than four FTR's are recorded on any one unit in a twelve month period a request will be made with the ship's CO to replace the OIC or risk the Unit being put into "Missing In Action" status. If after eighteen months if there are six or more FTR's on any one Unit that Unit will be placed In MIA status. The Unit will be returned to "Active" status only after three consecutive "On Time" reports. MIA Units that record two consecutive FTR's will be placed in "Lost In Action" Status. The Records will be placed in storage for future access and stricken from the Database of Active Units. Numbers taken from LIA Units will be placed back in the Pool of Numbers and reassigned. If the Unit becomes active again before the number is assigned to another group they will have first choice at that number but only if the Unit is still assigned to it's original Ship.
Battalions and Brigades The Brigade OIC in turn must have their report into COForceCom no later than the 21st of each even numbered month. If received after the Twenty First but before the COForceCom Report deadline it will be recorded as Late. COForceCom must make at least two attempts to acquire the report before recording it as FTR and Must keep proof of these attempts. If after two attempts COForceCom does not receive the report before his own reporting deadline the Brigade will be recorded as "Failure To Report". Battalion and Brigade OIC’s: Battalion and Brigade OIC’s who are late reporting twice in a twelve month period will be recorded as having one FTR for each pair of Late reports. Two FTR's in a twelve month period will result in the OIC being put on probation. Once put on probation the DOIC will be apprised of the situation and must make sure the Reports for the remainder of the twelve months are received on time by the OIC. Three FTR's in a Twelve month period will result in the removal of the OIC. Concerning BN OIC’s, Decision will be made by the BDE OIC at that time whether the BN DOIC will replace the OIC or if a new OIC will be appointed. COForceCom will decide whether the BDE DOIC will replace the OIC or whether a new OIC will be appointed.
COFORCECOM COForceCom: If COForceCom is late reporting twice in a twelve month period he will be recorded as FTR for each pair of Late Reports. Two FTR's in a twelve month period will result in COForceCom being put on probation. Probationary requirements will be set by the Commandant as he sees fit. If COForceCom is recorded as FTR three times in a twelve month period the situation will be brought before the remaining General Staff for decisions on an appropriate course of action.
